We are looking for an experienced Estimator to join our Projects Team in Leicester.

The Estimator will be flexible to the needs of the business, visiting clients if required for larger briefs, growing, and maintaining a network of suppliers to allow us to produce competitive quotes.
Working closely with the Project Managers and Studio Team, the Estimator will have several core areas of responsibility:
1. Estimating
Working with the Studio team to obtain drawings and information required for estimating:
Understanding the project and its requirements
Using industry knowledge to assess materials, labour, and other project costs
Reviewing materials and processes under consideration for the design and providing consultation as appropriate; value engineering for cost effectiveness
Recommending materials and manufacturing methods appropriate to specific projects
Preparing detailed and competitive quotations for point of sale projects, following up with clients to convert them
Ensuring that quotations align with project specifications, timelines and budgetary constraints
Working with the Project Managers and Design Teams to develop new suppliers, production methods and materials
Obtaining and analysing suppliers and supplier quotes to make recommendations for use in estimates
Where applicable, providing Project Managers with the type of estimate appropriate to the stage in the design and engineering process (ballpark, budgetary, firm)
Conducting thorough cost analysis on existing and potential projects to identify areas for cost savings and optimisation
Keeping abreast of market trends and pricing to maintain competitiveness in the industry
Research new materials and processes that contribute to increased sustainability, working with clients to find better solutions and briefing the management team on findings
Helping to maintain estimation files
Gaining proficiency in RFP and RFQ processing and administration
Coordinating with production department for labour estimates
Circulating estimates to Project Managers
Support the Managing Director and Projects team with account management and sales
Attend and contribute to quarterly team meeting and monthly sub-team meetings
Produce and analyse monthly reports on quotes generated
Remain flexible to the ever-changing needs of the business
2. Health and Safety
Ensure health and safety standards are met and any concerns reported immediately
Ensure site security is upheld
3. Lean Manufacturing
Implement Lean tools and processes to improve areas of work

Ability to read engineering drawings
Knowledge
3-5 years’ experience of cost estimating; preferably in the retail display or a related industry
Knowledge of acrylic fabrication, injection moulding, joinery, and sheet metal
Basic knowledge of materials and manufacturing process
Working knowledge of SolidWorks would be advantageous
Salary £38,000 to £45,000 pa depending on skills and abilities that meet the job description.
