Environmental Policy
RDD Europe Ltd (RDD) is a manufacturing and design company which specialises in retail displays. At RDD, we are always striving to meet customer expectations by specifying and using raw materials, manufacturing products, and processes that aim to reduce our environmental impact. We acknowledge that our operations have an effect on the environment and have identified our key environmental aspects that contribute our environmental and carbon footprint:

Procured goods and services with their own environmental impact
Our management’s commitment to the environment has seen us engage in continuous improvement activities to reduce, re-use and recycle, with a focus on working with clients and our supply chain to find more sustainable materials, products, and processes to use.
Our business is strengthened by protecting the safety, health and environment of our employees, our customers, and the people of the communities in which we do business.
Our environmental commitment can be demonstrated in our established objectives and goals below:

Compliance with all applicable standards, laws, requirements, regulations and public/customer expectations

Monitoring our key resource usage and implementing conservation techniques to achieve our environmental targets

Implement a waste/recycling policy

Commitment to achieving Net Zero emissions by 2050

Minimising unsustainable transport through the development of a travel plan

Working with suppliers to ensure they acknowledge and decrease the environmental impact of their products and transportation

Publishing and distribution of an annual organisational sustainability report
We will continue to improve our environmental management system by working to the Investors in the Environment (iiE) criteria, considering any changes in legislation, our organisation, and other factors. We will convey this policy to all our employees ensuring that they are provided with training to increase awareness of environmental matters.
The Managing Director is our Sustainability Champion and has responsibility for the day-to-day implementation of this policy. RDD will make this policy available when requested to interested parties including members of the public, including making a copy available on the RDD website.
Green Procurement Policy
RDD Europe Ltd (RDD) is committed to sourcing and procuring ‘environmentally preferable’ products and services that meet current performance, safety, and regulatory requirements.
By adopting this green procurement policy, RDD agrees to:

Act in accordance with the waste hierarchy, avoiding the unnecessary procurement of products and services where possible.

Use the criteria set out below to make decisions relating to the procurement of goods and services.

Review and, if necessary, update the policy on an annual basis.

Share the policy with all staff making procurement decisions.

Monitor on-going procurement activity, provide regular feedback to staff and submit impact data for annual reporting.
Green Procurement Criteria
RDD will consider the following criteria when making procurement decisions:

Eliminating or reducing the procurement of products or services that have the most harmful environmental impact.

Prioritising the procurement of products and services by spend or volume and environmental impact.

Procuring reused, refurbished, remanufactured and recycled-content products when possible.

Purchasing greener products available through existing suppliers, such as energy saving office equipment, biodegradable cleaning products, recycled content/FSC stationery and where appropriate, use reusable and refillable products.

Purchasing organic and/or fair-trade products where practicable.

Supporting local remanufacturing efforts by purchasing at least a portion of recycled/upcycled products from local organisations where they exist.

Actively encouraging suppliers to stock products and services that have minimum environmental impact and reduce the packaging in which products are supplied.

Asking suppliers to provide clear information about the processes and materials used in their manufacturing processes, identifying any processes harmful to the environment and seek suppliers that are working towards the phase out of such practices.
It may not be possible to purchase a green alternative for every product or service. Compromise may be required. RDD will endeavour to:

Address the significant environmental impacts of current procurement.

Set targets and dates to achieve changes in purchasing practice.

Engage colleagues responsible for procurement decisions with general environmental awareness and provide support for them to improve the sustainability of our supply chain.

Work co-operatively between departments and with organisations to purchase environmentally sound products.
