As with other model making assignments, we were handed two pairs of regular-sized Adidas and Beats headphones and asked to super-size them (with no suggestion for how this could be done).
We produced 12:1 scale interactive models, that wowed shoppers and created a social media storm, perfect for this destination shopping experience.
The hardest part of this project was getting them through the doors at Selfridges. Both headphones are ‘built’ in three sections. The cable disappears into the floor and is actually a scaffolding pole! Power comes from the wall and into the upholstered over ear padding – which, yes, actually plays music.
